BACKGROUND

Eric Chan (陳詩亮) a.k.a. EEPMON is a Digital Artist and consultant with over 15 years in the creative industry. His fusion of art and computer code results in generative, digital creations that have been seen in fashion, comics to museums and has exhibited worldwide.

In 2018, EEPMON travelled to China as a delegate on Canada’s first creative industries trade mission led by Canadian Heritage. Between 2017 to 2021, he served in the positions of director and then Vice President of the Canadian Museums Association’s Board of Directors. His artwork titled, Chaos Bloom, has been acquired by the Canada Council Art Bank and was a TEDx performing artist.

In 2021, EEPMON took over Times Square, NYC debuting his CityLights NFTs. All 1,208 mints were sold in less than 2 hours of its launch.

His digital artworks spans retail, popular culture, commercial brands, startups to institutions – Canada Goose, Marvel Entertainment, Microsoft, PEANUTS (of the famed Charlie Brown and Snoopy), Monkey King, Quantropi, and the Canada Science & Technology Museum were among his clients. He was featured in publications such as Assouline, GQ France, HYPEBEAST, COMPLEX, Jay-Z’s Life+Times, and ImagineFX.

He is a passionate speaker on themes surrounding STEAM education and art × entrepreneurship in the Digital Age. As such, he has given presentations at the RISD Museum hosted by Adobe, IDEO NYC, UX.Talk Tokyo, Guangzhou University, HELLO FUTURE Summit Shanghai, University of Toronto’s iSchool and the Library and Archives Canada GLAMs summit.

EEPMON is a 2023 Library and Archives Canada Scholar Awards laureate.
