Jay-Z’s Life+Times
The Synthesis of Art and Industry (January, 2014)
In January 2014, EEPMON was invited for an in-depth interview with Life+Times, the digital culture platform curated by Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter. The feature, titled “Canada Goose Collaborates with Digital Artist EEPMON for Exclusive Parka,” explored the philosophical backbone of the Synthesis project—the first of its kind for both the brand and the artist.
The interview focused on the “Synthesis” of differing realms: the handmade artistry of traditional illustration and the precision of computer programming. The piece remains one of the most comprehensive examinations of the “High-Tech, High-Touch” mission, highlighting the intersection of human craftsmanship and technological innovation.
A Legacy of Authenticity
Being featured by Life+Times represented a significant milestone of cultural recognition. At a time when the global market was beginning to grasp the potential of wearable art, Jay-Z’s platform identified the Synthesis Parka as a “sartorial endeavour” that defined the digital age. This interview serves as a permanent record of the “Made in Canada” ethos being broadcast to the epicentre of global hip-hop and luxury culture.
“You are the best at what you do, and I am the best at what I do. Let’s bring the best of Made in Canada to the world.” — EEPMON, Life+Times 2014
