As part of the 5th Canada/China Cultural Dialogue, EEPMON served as a key delegate within a select group of 23 Canadian cultural professionals. This mission, organized by Can4Culture in partnership with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), focused on the theme of “Innovation: Cultural Ingenuity.”

Based on the mission’s objectives and the context of the delegation, the involvement focused on the following pillars:
1. Cultural Diplomacy in Beijing and Dunhuang
The delegation traveled to Beijing and the historic city of Dunhuang—a vital landmark on the Silk Road known for its rich cultural heritage. EEPMON participated in high-level dialogues aimed at exploring how digital technology and artistic innovation can foster global citizenship and strengthen bilateral ties between Canada and China.
2. Bridging STEAM and Heritage
The mission facilitated direct engagement between Canadian creative leaders and Chinese institutions, such as the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH). For EEPMON, this provided a platform to demonstrate how the “Arts” in STEAM can be used to interpret and preserve intangible heritage, aligning with the dialogue’s focus on paving the way for future museum and educational exchanges.
3. Strengthening People-to-People Bonds
Endorsed by the former Governor General of Canada, the Right Honourable David Johnston, the delegation’s work emphasized creating long-term relationships through shared artistic and scientific inquiry. EEPMON’s participation highlighted the role of the modern artist as a “cultural ambassador,” using data-driven art and character design to transcend national boundaries and create a shared visual language for innovation.
