Created for Part II, the Mecha Noh Ryūgū Kozō XRAY Series strips the mask back to its outlines. Switching to x-ray mode to show Naohiko Umewaka the seemingly infinite layers left only the lines themselves. Naohiko-san’s response was, “This is very Noh.” The black and white x-ray version, Mecha Ryūgū Kozō 001 XRAY A, was made to form like a Hikimawashi cloth and a blanket, not computer projected, and became a key element of the Ryūgū Kozō performance on stage.
