Inspired by a portrait of Canadian wrestler Olympic gold medalist, Erica Wiebe in a red hoodie, the Erica Wiebe × EEPMON collaboration transcends a traditional portrait to visually communicate her determination, fierceness, and the confidence required to overcome any obstacle. The official launch at the Canada Science and Technology Museum marked the successful debut of this artistic partnership.

Erica Wiebe is an elite Canadian wrestler who captured the Olympic gold medal in the 75kg freestyle event at the Rio 2016 Games, and as of 2026, she continues her leadership in sport as Team Canada’s Chef de Mission for the Commonwealth Games.

Despite coming from different professional backgrounds, the project highlights shared traits of passion, a drive to explore the unknown, and the perseverance to improve daily. During the event, Erica and EEPMON engaged with students to discuss their respective journeys, emphasizing that success is rarely a linear trajectory but rather a path shaped by both triumphs and setbacks.

Special thanks to the Canada Science and Technology Museum and Ingenium Canada for their support in bringing this initiative to life. A range of collaborative merchandise, including prints, t-shirts, and magnets, is available through the museum’s gift shop and Erica Wiebe’s online store.

In December 2017, digital artist and entrepreneur EEPMON joined an extraordinary panel hosted by Ingenium Canada to celebrate the launch of the book Canadian Failures: Stories of Building Toward Success, published by Dundurn Press.

As a contributing author, EEPMON spoke alongside fellow chapter contributors—distinguished Canadian astronaut Robert Thirsk and Olympic gold medalist wrestler Erica Wiebe. The panel brought together diverse leaders from art, science, and sports to share a candid dialogue about the hidden side of achievement. Drawing from his own essay chapter titled #FAILMORE, EEPMON discussed the pivotal setbacks, risks, and hard-earned lessons encountered throughout his career path, emphasising how embracing failure is an essential catalyst for creative growth and ultimate entrepreneurial success.

The book serves as a powerful reminder that behind every great Canadian triumph is a foundation built on perseverance and learning from defeat.
