National Ambassador Appointment:
Navy Bike Ride 2026

For Immediate Release: The Royal Canadian Navy has officially named its National Ambassadors for the 2026 – Navy Bike Ride, selecting leaders who embody the spirit of community and resilience. This year, the initiative is championed by National Ambassador EEPMON, working to inspire Canadians to support the well-being of the naval community through active participation.

EEPMON and Tanya Woods bring leadership, vision, and a deep commitment to service. We are honoured to welcome them as our inaugural Navy Bike Ride National Ambassadors and look forward to the energy and insight they will bring to this role.”

The Mission

The Navy Bike Ride (NBR) is a signature event that fosters a sense of camaraderie and fitness within the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian public. Since its inception in 2016, the ride has served as a vital fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting key military charities, including the Navalis Foundation, Support Our Troops, and Soldier On. These organizations provide essential relief, recovery, and rehabilitation services for sailors, veterans, and their families.

EEPMON with Project In Kind unveiled the official 2026 Navy Bike Ride t-shirt and cycling jersey. As a National Ambassador and an avid runner, EEPMON’s design of this year’s “armour” was a mission for him to support the Royal Canadian Navy’s service members and their families.

The Design Vision

∙ Generative Dazzle: The entire textile features a geometric mesh created through computer code and algorithms—a digital-age tribute to historic ship camouflage.

∙ The River-class Destroyer: Meticulously hand-outlining the silhouette of the RCN’s upcoming River-class destroyer. It’s shown cutting through aggressive waves, symbolizing resilience and foresight.

∙ Mecha-Armour: Using my signature eepmon “mecha” style, EEPMON wanted participants to feel empowered, resilient, and protected.

∙ Strength in Unity: When standing together on June 13th at Hog’s Back Park, these individual running t-shirts and cycling jerseys merge into one massive, unified dazzle pattern. No matter how far apart we are, we are connected by the seas.

A Tradition of Resilience

Cycling is deeply rooted in naval culture, traditionally used by sailors to maintain physical and mental health while deployed at sea. The National Ambassadors are tasked with bringing this tradition to the forefront, encouraging participants of all skill levels to join the movement.

The Leader Impact Badge, created in proud support of the Navy Bike Ride, draws inspiration from the naval signal “Bravo Zulu” (BZ)—a traditional flag hoist or radio transmission meaning “well done.”

Utilizing the signature BZ colour palette, the design integrates the EEPMON “mecha” aesthetic with a geometric anchor × heart, symbolizing a steadfast commitment to both social impact and the Royal Canadian Navy.

How to Participate

The 2026 campaign offers multiple ways for the public to engage:

∙ The In-Person Event: A signature ride taking place in Ottawa at Hog’s Back Park.

∙ The Virtual Challenge: A month-long event throughout June, allowing Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast to log kilometres and contribute to the cause regardless of their location.

By bridging the gap between the military and civilian populations, the National Ambassadors aim to strengthen the “One Navy Strong” community through every step, and pedal stroke.

Marking their first exhibition collaboration, the Ottawa Art Gallery partnered with the Embassy of Canada to Japan in Tokyo to present an international exhibition of EEPMON’s groundbreaking generative art. Digital Worlds: The Generative Art of EEPMON, on view until May 12, 2026 at the Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo, is a celebration of cultural connection, collaboration, and creative innovation.

EEPMON is featured in the print issue of National Geographic Japan (April, 2026).

The feature explores his “High-Tech, High-Touch” philosophy, specifically highlighting:

∙ The Weather Art Generator: A new work that visualizes and converges real-time weather data from Ottawa and Tokyo, creating a living digital bridge between the two cities.

∙ Canadian Census Data Art: The generative piece Constellations, created during his residency at Library and Archives Canada and showcased at the Canada Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka.

The publication coincides with EEPMON’s solo exhibition, Digital Worlds, currently on display at the Embassy of Canada to Japan’s Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo through May 12, 2026.
