For Immediate Release: The Royal Canadian Navy has officially named its National Ambassadors for the 2026 – Navy Bike Ride, selecting leaders who embody the spirit of community and resilience. This year, the initiative is championed by National Ambassador EEPMON, working to inspire Canadians to support the well-being of the naval community through active participation.

“Our Navy’s strength lies not only in its operational excellence, but in the people and communities that stand behind it. EEPMON and Tanya Woods bring leadership, vision, and a deep commitment to service. We are honoured to welcome them as our inaugural Navy Bike Ride National Ambassadors and look forward to the energy and insight they will bring to this role.”

The Mission
The Navy Bike Ride (NBR) is a signature event that fosters a sense of camaraderie and fitness within the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian public. Since its inception in 2016, the ride has served as a vital fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting key military charities, including the Navalis Foundation, Support Our Troops, and Soldier On. These organizations provide essential relief, recovery, and rehabilitation services for sailors, veterans, and their families.

A Tradition of Resilience
Cycling is deeply rooted in naval culture, traditionally used by sailors to maintain physical and mental health while deployed at sea. The National Ambassadors are tasked with bringing this tradition to the forefront, encouraging participants of all skill levels to join the movement.

The Leader Impact Badge, created in proud support of the Navy Bike Ride, draws inspiration from the naval signal “Bravo Zulu” (BZ)—a traditional flag hoist or radio transmission meaning “well done.”

Utilizing the signature BZ colour palette, the design integrates the EEPMON “mecha” aesthetic with a geometric anchor × heart, symbolizing a steadfast commitment to both social impact and the Royal Canadian Navy.

How to Participate
The 2026 campaign offers multiple ways for the public to engage:

∙ The In-Person Event: A signature ride taking place in Ottawa at Hog’s Back Park.

∙ The Virtual Challenge: A month-long event throughout June, allowing Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast to log kilometres and contribute to the cause regardless of their location.

By bridging the gap between the military and civilian populations, the National Ambassadors aim to strengthen the “One Navy Strong” community through every pedal stroke.

EEPMON is featured in the print issue of National Geographic Japan (April, 2026).

The feature explores his “High-Tech, High-Touch” philosophy, specifically highlighting:

∙ The Weather Art Generator: A new work that visualizes and converges real-time weather data from Ottawa and Tokyo, creating a living digital bridge between the two cities.

∙ Canadian Census Data Art: The generative piece Constellations, created during his residency at Library and Archives Canada and showcased at the Canada Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka.

The publication coincides with EEPMON’s solo exhibition, Digital Worlds, currently on display at the Embassy of Canada to Japan’s Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo through May 12, 2026. Special thanks to the Embassy’s public affairs team, the editorial team at Nikkei BP, and National Geographic for highlighting these algorithmic and data-driven creations that explore human narrative and sustainability.

カナダ人アーティスト、EEPMONのデジタルワールドへようこそ。

EEPMONは、偶然、反復、双方向性を組み入れたコンピュータープログラムによって生み出される生成アート作品を制作しています。デジタル情報を視覚化することで、コンピューターコードがクリエイティブな共同制作者となり、精密でありながら予測不能、論理的でありながら詩的な作品をが生まれます。

中国系カナダ人であるEEPMONの作品には、東洋と西洋の視覚文化から得たインスピレーションと、世界中から受けた影響が投影されています。彼が渋谷と新宿を初めて訪れたときのひらめきから生まれ、長く続いている「シティ・ライツ」シリーズは、都市空間に満ち溢れる光とエネルギーを捉えています。これとは対照的に、「カオス・ブルームズ」シリーズは、有機的で流動的なフォルムが特徴です。この二つの作品群は、20年にわたるEEPMONの進化を物語っています。

Digital Worlds: The Generative Art of EEPMON

EEPMON makes generative artworks—pieces produced through computer programs that introduce chance, iteration, and interactivity. By transforming digital information into visual forms, he reveals how computer code can act as a creative collaborator, generating works that are precise and unpredictable, logical and poetic.

EEPMON’s heritage is Chinese. He draws inspiration from both Eastern and Western visual cultures, including influences from around the world in his works. His long-running CityLights series—sparked by his first visit to Shibuya and Shinjuku districts in Tokyo, Japan—captures the lights and energy within those urban spaces. In contrast, his Chaos Bloom series features organic, fluid forms. These two bodies of work show how the artist has evolved over two decades.

EEPMON’s works range from digital projections and screen-based work to large-scale murals and NFTs. Within these spaces, visitors will encounter many of the fictional characters he has created to inhabit his digital worlds—figures that blur the line between technology and imagination.

EEPMON’s work is rooted in values of innovation, sustainability, and cross-cultural dialogue. His work bridges Canada, Japan and the wider world. Collaborations with international brands such as Canada Goose and Alpha Industries, reveal how design, data and storytelling intersect, moving across cultures and disciplines.

In Digital Worlds, human imagination and digital intelligence merge, creating art that is fluid, borderless and endlessly changing.

Générations infinies. Les univers d’EEPMON

EEPMON crée des œuvres génératives — des pièces produites grâce à des programmes informatiques qui introduisent le hasard, l’itération et l’interactivité. En transformant l’information numérique en formes visuelles, l’artiste révèle comment le code informatique peut agir comme un collaborateur créatif, générant des œuvres à la fois précises et imprévisibles, logiques et poétiques.

EEPMON est d’origine chinoise. Il puise son inspiration dans les cultures visuelles orientales et occidentales, intégrant des influences venues du monde entier dans ses créations. Sa série emblématique CityLights — née de sa première visite des quartiers de Shibuya et Shinjuku à Tokyo, au Japon — capture les lumières et l’énergie de ces espaces urbains. カナダ大使館地下2階にある高円宮記念ギャラリーでは、絵画、彫刻、写真、テキスタイル、デザインなど、カナダ人の作品を展示しています。日加関係に対する高円宮殿下のご功績を称える記念事業の一環として、2003年4月に現在の名称となりました。

Located in the Embassy of Canada to Japan B2 basement, the Prince Takamado Gallery presents exhibitions of Canadian paintings, sculptures, photography, textiles, designs and other artwork. It was given its current name in April 2003 as one of several Canadian initiatives to commemorate Prince Takamado’s contribution to Canada-Japan relations.

Située au sous-sol B2 de l’Ambassade du Canada au Japon, la galerie présente des expositions de peinture, de sculpture, de photographie, de textiles, de dessins et d’autres œuvres d’art canadiennes. Elle a reçu son nom actuel en avril 2003, dans le cadre de plusieurs initiatives canadiennes visant à commémorer la contribution du prince Takamado aux relations canada-japonaises.
