National Ambassador Appointment:
Navy Bike Ride 2026

For Immediate Release: The Royal Canadian Navy has officially named its National Ambassadors for the 2026 – Navy Bike Ride, selecting leaders who embody the spirit of community and resilience. This year, the initiative is championed by National Ambassador EEPMON, working to inspire Canadians to support the well-being of the naval community through active participation.

The Mission
The Navy Bike Ride (NBR) is a signature event that fosters a sense of camaraderie and fitness within the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian public. Since its inception in 2016, the ride has served as a vital fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting key military charities, including the Navalis Foundation, Support Our Troops, and Soldier On. These organizations provide essential relief, recovery, and rehabilitation services for sailors, veterans, and their families.

A Tradition of Resilience
Cycling is deeply rooted in naval culture, traditionally used by sailors to maintain physical and mental health while deployed at sea. The National Ambassadors are tasked with bringing this tradition to the forefront, encouraging participants of all skill levels to join the movement.

The Leader Impact Badge, created in proud support of the Navy Bike Ride, draws inspiration from the naval signal “Bravo Zulu” (BZ)—a traditional flag hoist or radio transmission meaning “well done.”

Utilizing the signature BZ colour palette, the design integrates the EEPMON “mecha” aesthetic with a geometric anchor × heart, symbolizing a steadfast commitment to both social impact and the Royal Canadian Navy.

How to Participate
The 2026 campaign offers multiple ways for the public to engage:

∙ The In-Person Event: A signature ride taking place in Ottawa at Hog’s Back Park.

∙ The Virtual Challenge: A month-long event throughout June, allowing Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast to log kilometres and contribute to the cause regardless of their location.

By bridging the gap between the military and civilian populations, the National Ambassadors aim to strengthen the “One Navy Strong” community through every pedal stroke.

For its inaugural virtual celebration, EEPMON and Tanya Woods of Kind Village created a colouring activity book in partnership with Canadian Heritage, and Ingenium Canada. The booklet was made available for download through the Government of Canada’s website.

Background: The artwork and activities are derived from a permanent art mural developed by EEPMON and Kind Village for Ingenium. The project involved over a year of research within three museum vaults, including interviews with staff and community members to identify key inspirations and social issues.

This mural was inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is noted as potentially being the first permanent artwork in the world specifically inspired by these global goals.

The mural and the accompanying Yours to Discover – Online Experience provide a visual narrative exploring the intersections of human innovation and ingenuity. The project highlights the drive to advance science, technology, and social impact across the past, present, and future.
