Artist Statement
The 3/11 incident marked a pivotal moment in Japan. The crisis continues and it is anticipated that the clean-up effort will take decades.

I am amazed and inspired by the resilience and strong will the Japanese people have shown. When I was asked to create a video piece for the Sony Ziris Wall at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, it was no question that my work “TRANSIENT” should pay tribute to the traditional/modern culture that I respect and admire.

25th Gemini Awards (2010) | Visual Branding

In 2010, EEPMON collaborated with the Vancouver-based design firm Switch United to conceive the central visual branding for the 25th Anniversary of Canada’s Gemini Awards. The Gemini Awards, established by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, served as the country’s premier accolades for the English-language television industry, honouring outstanding achievements in broadcasting, digital media, and performance.

To commemorate the awards’ “silver year,” EEPMON developed using his signature CityLights artwork that reimagines the history of Canadian broadcasting. The composition features a vibrant, silver chandelier-like structure, intricately layered with symbolic elements that pay homage to legacy media while looking forward to a digital future. This branding was utilized across various platforms, including promotional materials, booklet, website, and the award ceremony itself, effectively bridging a quarter-century of heritage with a contemporary, high-energy aesthetic.

Beyond his creative role, EEPMON also served as an official sponsor for the event, further solidifying his commitment to the Canadian arts and media landscape.

Xbox 360 × eepmon | Visual Campaign 2008

In 2008, EEPMON partnered with Microsoft XBOX Europe to spearhead the visual identity and seasonal branding for their high-profile Summer and Fall marketing campaigns. The collaboration centred on creating an extensive series of bespoke, highly detailed digital artworks tailored to define and promote Xbox’s four core entertainment pillars: Blockbuster, Music, Sports, and Family.

These intricate illustrations were deployed across major European markets, serving as the visual anchor for regional advertisements, digital media, and promotional rollouts. Beyond standard marketing assets, the vibrant, character-driven artwork was adapted into large-scale physical installations, including custom-wrapped console displays and experiential gallery showcases that brought the energetic “World of EEPs” aesthetic directly to the gaming community.
