Eric Chan, known professionally as EEPMON, is a digital generative artist whose practice sits at the intersection of algorithmic precision and cultural storytelling. For over two decades, he has pioneered a “High-Tech, High-Touch” philosophy—synthesizing code, real-time data, and traditional media to explore the nuances of identity and heritage in the digital age.

From transforming weather data into living art (INTERSECTIONS) to redefining digital ownership through his CityLights NFTs, EEPMON’s work is characterized by a deep engagement with public memory. As the inaugural Creator in Residence at Library and Archives Canada (LAC), he currently bridges the gap between static history and generative evolution—a theme explored in his murals for the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canadian Museum of History and his expansive generative piece, Constellations – The Flow of Belonging, debuted at the Expo 2025 Osaka Canada Pavilion.

His innovations in weather-reactive systems were recently profiled in the April 2026 print issue of National Geographic Japan.

/ Global Collaborations & Advocacy

EEPMON’s multidisciplinary approach transcends industry boundaries, leading to collaborations with global icons including Marvel, Canada Goose, Peanuts Comics, and Microsoft Xbox.

Beyond the studio, he serves as a dynamic voice for the creative economy. A Banff Forum ABJ Fellow, LAC Scholar, and former Canadian Museums Association Board member, EEPMON has represented Canadian creative innovation on Team Canada minister-led trade missions to Japan in 2023 and China in 2018. Notably, he testified before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage regarding the impact of AI on the creative industries.

On April 10th, 2026, the Royal Canadian Navy appointed EEPMON as its inaugural National Ambassadors for Navy Bike Ride.

/ Exhibition

His landmark solo exhibition, Digital Worlds: The Generative Art of EEPMON curated by Rebecca Basciano of the Ottawa Art Gallery, is currently on view at the Embassy of Canada to Japan, Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo through May 12, 2026.

EEPMON is featured alongside Sirine Hijal, Counsellor and Head of Public Affairs at the Embassy of Canada to Japan, in the February 2026 issue of Times Gallery in Sustainable Japan by The Japan Times.

The feature highlights the exhibition Digital Worlds: The Generative Art of EEPMON, currently hosted at the Prince Takamado Gallery. Recognition is extended to the Sustainable Japan editorial staff for selecting this body of work for the feature opportunity.
