Marking their first exhibition collaboration, the Ottawa Art Gallery partnered with the Embassy of Canada to Japan in Tokyo to present an international exhibition of EEPMON’s groundbreaking generative art. Digital Worlds: The Generative Art of EEPMON, on view until May 12, 2026 at the Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo, is a celebration of cultural connection, collaboration, and creative innovation.

EEPMON is featured in the print issue of National Geographic Japan (April, 2026).

The feature explores his “High-Tech, High-Touch” philosophy, specifically highlighting:

∙ The Weather Art Generator: A new work that visualizes and converges real-time weather data from Ottawa and Tokyo, creating a living digital bridge between the two cities.

∙ Canadian Census Data Art: The generative piece Constellations, created during his residency at Library and Archives Canada and showcased at the Canada Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka.

The publication coincides with EEPMON’s solo exhibition, Digital Worlds, currently on display at the Embassy of Canada to Japan’s Prince Takamado Gallery in Tokyo through May 12, 2026. 陳詩亮 Eric Sze-Lang Chan, known professionally as EEPMON, is a digital generative artist whose practice sits at the intersection of algorithmic precision and cultural storytelling. For over two decades, he has pioneered a “High-Tech, High-Touch” philosophy—synthesizing code, real-time data, and traditional media, exploring the nuances of identity and cultural heritage in the digital age.

From transforming weather data into living art (INTERSECTIONS) to redefining digital ownership through his CityLights NFTs, EEPMON’s work is characterized by a deep engagement with public memory. As the inaugural Creator in Residence at Library and Archives Canada (LAC), he bridges static history and generative evolution—a theme explored in his murals for the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canadian Museum of History and his expansive generative piece using Canadian census records, Constellations – The Flow of Belonging, debuted at the Expo 2025 Osaka Canada Pavilion.

His innovations in weather-reactive systems were recently profiled in the April 2026 print issue of National Geographic Japan edition.

A Banff Forum ABJ Fellow, LAC Scholar, and former Canadian Museums Association Board member, EEPMON has represented Canadian creative innovation on Team Canada minister-led trade missions to Japan in 2023 and China in 2018. Notably, he testified before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage – The Effects of Technological Advances in AI on the Creative Industries.

On April 10th, 2026, the Royal Canadian Navy appointed EEPMON as its inaugural National Ambassador for Navy Bike Ride.
