My upcoming NFT 2023 collaboration will be with KUMALEON – a generative art group based in Japan and in South Korea.
November 22nd, 2022 was the one year anniversary of my previous NFT project, CityLights and to mark its memorable event, KUMALEON and I held a live AMA on Twitter Spaces to jointly announced our upcoming collaboration. The KUMALEON × EEPMON collaboration will have my ChaosBloom series made into NFTs and thus, will be part of the KUMALEON ecosystem.
What is KUMALEON? KUMALEON is a wordplay that combines the word bear (pronounced “KUMA” in Japanese) and the chameleon “LEON”. This is because of the vary nature of KUMALEON’s usage of the ERC-998 protocol. Having understood the token’s technicalities and specifications, I was immediately intrigued by its potential utility. ERC-998 is an extension of the ERC-721 standard that adds the ability for NFTs to own other NFTs and ERC-20 tokens. As such, this creates a parent-child hierarchy structure with endless possibilities and gamification potential.
How does that relate to Kumaleon? The bear would essentially be the parent and any artworks applied as a texture onto the bear would serve as the children. This means the an owner of a single KUAMELON (ERC-998) has the potentiality of owning two or more NFTs like a group package.
I’m looking forward to have my ChaosBloom with KUMALEON as it is a great entry point into its world and opens up to future potential partnerships.
